2,7-Dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate is a cell-permeable fluorogenic probe for the detection of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and nitric oxide (NO). It is non-fluorescent but can be oxidized to the highly fluorescent product dichlorofluorescein (DHF). It can be utilized in rapid quantification of ROS in response to oxidative metabolism.
