AV-Ceramide is a fluorescent probe composed of C-10 ceramide and an anthrylvinyl (AV) group. The AV group is readily incorporated into central region of a lipid bilayer. The transfer or transport of lipids labeled with AV is commonly evaluated in real time using fluorescence resonance energy transfer, with a second fluorophore.
